Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the bottom end of the spectrum of treatment services in terms of level of care, for the reason that individual is able to keep their lifestyle in lots of ways without the commitment of having to remain in a treatment center while undergoing rehabilitation services. While this may appear ideal it will not provide the much needed change of environment than many people in rehab need to experience a productive rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when someone's insurance isn't going to cover the total cost of rehab or will only cover part of it. In these situations, it may seem like a disadvantage but people actually have a great deal of leverage simply because they can select whichever center they would like without the limitations from health insurers that so many men and women face. Likewise, rehab centers will frequently provide payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to help them get into rehab.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation programs accept Medicaid if the individual is unable to self pay or present some other kind of private health insurance. Medicaid might pay for outpatient and short-term treatment in a limited amount of centers, and in such cases individuals might want to investigate the self pay option and drum up any resources they are able to to cover a more quality rehab center that will get better results, say for example a long-term residential alcohol and drug treatment program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek treatment at alcohol and drug treatment facilities which deliver either inpatient or outpatient treatment when the center is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the approval of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help out with establishing the person's rehabilitation plan. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being just like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being paid for through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug rehabilitation if other kinds of insurance or self payment aren't a choice. When someone doesn't have private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they may qualify for state insurance, they can talk with their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but usually only inside the state which offers the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical health insurance plans typically cover some form of drug and alcohol treatment service ranging from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities. Individuals could have to take part in a drug and alcohol treatment center that is in their network of providers and there can be other restrictions such as the length of time their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can pick a good program they prefer and speak with a rehabilitation specialist to determine if their insurance will cover it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the price of particular substance abuse treatment solutions. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient facilities in addition to partial hospitalization are all paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There can be some limitations about just how long a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol rehab is allowed, and all of these questions can be answered before you start rehab so that it's clear just how long and individual can remain in the rehabilitation center of preference.
