Hospital Inpatient

Hospital inpatient services are accessible to anybody who should be safely managed through detox services when seriously addicted to drugs and alcohol, or who wants a better spectrum of care such as someone who has a dual diagnosis and also needs mental health solutions during their rehabilitation process. You will find both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services available.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when a person's insurance isn't going to cover the total cost of rehabilitation or will only cover part of it. In these cases, it may appear like a disadvantage but individuals in fact have a much more leverage because they can decide on whichever program they want without the limitations from health insurance companies that so many individuals encounter. Likewise, rehabilitation centers will usually offer payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to help them get into rehab.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation centers accept Medicaid when the individual cannot self pay or present another form of private medical health insurance. Medicaid may possibly pay for outpatient and short-term rehab in a limited amount of programs, and in this case individuals may choose to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they can to fund a more quality rehab program that will get better results, say for example a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehab center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehab at drug treatment centers which provide either inpatient or outpatient treatment if the program is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the approval of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help in setting up the person's rehabilitation plan. Inpatient services are provided through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being just like any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the costs of alcohol and drug rehabilitation if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't an option. If someone doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they might qualify for state insurance, they should seek advice from their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but generally only within the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health insurance plans typically cover some sort of drug and alcohol rehab service ranging from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment centers. Individuals could have to participate in a drug rehab program that's within their network of providers and there could be other restrictions for example the length of time their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can choose a good program they like and speak with a treatment specialist to determine if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the costs of particular drug abuse rehab services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient programs as well as partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization and in that case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare consultant. There can be some limitations about how long a stay in inpatient drug treatment is permitted, and all of these questions will be answered prior to starting treatment so that it's clear how much time and individual can stay in the rehab center of preference.
