Hospital Inpatient

Hospital inpatient services are available to anyone that has to be safely managed through detoxification services when heavily dependent to drugs, or who wants a broader spectrum of care such as somebody who has a dual diagnosis and also requires mental health services during their rehab process. You can find both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services available.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be predisposed to alcoholism and substance abuse due to problems that their impairment impose on them. While discovery of the problem is often hard among the hearing impaired, you will find ASL as well as other assistance services designed for them when substance abuse rehabilitation is necessary. Other than ASL, such services might include assistive listening tools and captioned video materials so that deaf and hearing impaired people are receiving the help they require in alcohol and drug rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when someone's insurance isn't going to pay for the entire cost of rehab or will only cover some of it. In these situations, it may appear like a disadvantage but individuals actually have a much more leverage because they can select whichever program they would like without the limitations from health insurance companies that so many people face. In addition, treatment facilities will usually offer payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into treatment.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation facilities accept Medicaid in the event the individual cannot self pay or present any other form of private health care insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term treatment inside a limited amount of facilities, and in this case individuals may wish to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they can to pay for a more quality rehabilitation program which will produce better results, such as a long-term residential drug rehabilitation program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehabilitation at alcohol and drug treatment centers which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehab when the program is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the approval of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must help in establishing the person's rehab plan. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being exactly like any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the costs of alcohol and drug rehab if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not a possibility. If a person has no private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they might qualify for state insurance, they should talk with their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but generally only within the state which offers the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans generally cover some sort of alcohol and drug rehab service ranging from outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab facilities. Individuals could possibly have to take part in an alcohol and drug treatment center that's in their network of providers and there can be other limitations such as the length of time their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can pick a good program they prefer and meet with a rehabilitation counselor to determine if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the costs of certain drug abuse treatment services. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient facilities and also partial hospitalization are all covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare consultant. There could be some restrictions as to the length of time a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation is permitted, and all of these questions can be answered before beginning rehabilitation so that it is clear the length of time and individual can remain in the treatment facility of preference.
