Hospital Inpatient

Hospital inpatient services are available to anyone who needs to be safely managed through detoxification services when heavily addicted to drugs and alcohol, or who wants a better spectrum of care such as someone who has a dual diagnosis so also requires mental health services as part of their rehab procedure. You can find both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services offered.

Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the bottom end of the spectrum of rehab services in terms of intensity of care, because the individual is able to keep their lifestyle in several ways with no commitment of having to stay in a rehabilitation facility while receiving rehabilitation services. Although this may seem ideal it may not provide the much needed change of environment than many individuals in treatment have to have to have a productive rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when a person's insurance won't pay for the entire cost of treatment or will only pay for some of it. In these cases, it may appear like a disadvantage but people actually have a much more leverage due to the fact they can select whichever facility they would like without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many people face. Likewise, rehabilitation programs will usually provide payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to help them get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Certain rehab programs will take Medicaid if the individual cannot self pay or present another type of private medical insurance. Medicaid might cover outpatient and short-term rehab within a limited amount of centers, and in cases like this individuals may wish to explore the self pay alternative and come up with up any resources they can to cover a more quality rehabilitation center that will get better results, like a long-term residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek treatment at drug rehabilitation centers which deliver either inpatient or outpatient treatment if the facility is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed physician, who must aid in setting up the person's treatment plan. Inpatient services are provided through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being exactly like any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the costs of drug and alcohol rehab if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not an option. If someone doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they may qualify for state insurance, they should consult their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but typically only within the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans typically cover some sort of drug rehabilitation service which range from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment programs. Individuals could possibly have to take part in a drug rehabilitation facility that's within their network of providers and there may be other limitations such as just how long their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can pick a good facility they like and meet with a rehab counselor to determine if their insurance will take care of it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the costs of certain substance abuse treatment services. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient facilities as well as partial hospitalization are all covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare consultant. There may be some restrictions concerning the length of time a stay in inpatient drug rehab is permitted, and every one of these questions will be answered before you begin rehab so that it's clear just how long and individual can stay in the rehabilitation facility of preference.

Sliding Fee Scale

A sliding fee scale is a payment assistance option available from a variety of drug and alcohol treatment centers in an effort to help clients afford treatment where this might not have been possible originally. As an example, one client's fee for rehab might be different and lower than somebody else whose financial situation is better which makes them more prepared to pay for the full price of treatment. Registrars take into account other factors in addition to income including number of dependents to determine the final cost and using the sliding scale.
