Hospital inpatient services are accessible to anyone who needs to be safely managed through detox services when intensely dependent to drugs and/or alcohol, or who requires a broader spectrum of care such as someone who is dealing with a dual diagnosis and also needs mental health services during their treatment process. There are both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services offered.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired are often prone to alcoholism and drug abuse as a result of problems their impairment impose on them. While detection of the issue can sometimes be difficult among the hearing impaired, you will find ASL and other assistance services readily available for them when drug abuse rehab is needed. Apart from ASL, such services may include assistive listening tools and captioned video materials so that deaf and hearing impaired folks are obtaining the support they need in alcohol and drug treatment.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when someone's insurance won't cover the total cost of rehabilitation or will only cover some of it. In these instances, it may seem like a disadvantage but individuals really have a great deal of leverage because they can decide on whichever center they would like without the restrictions from health insurance providers that so many people face. Likewise, treatment centers will frequently provide payment assistance for people whose only option is self payment to help them get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation centers will take Medicaid in the event the individual cannot self pay or present any other form of private medical health insurance. Medicaid might cover outpatient and short-term rehabilitation within a limited amount of centers, and in this case individuals may wish to investigate the self pay option and come up with up any resources they are able to to fund a more quality rehab facility that will produce better results, say for example a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation if the program is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help in setting up the person's treatment plan. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being exactly like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the costs of alcohol and drug treatment if other kinds of insurance or self payment aren't a possibility. If a person has no private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could be eligible for state insurance, they should consult their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but usually only in the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans typically cover some form of drug rehabilitation service including outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug treatment centers. Individuals may have to take part in a drug and alcohol rehab facility that's in their network of providers and there can be other restrictions including the length of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can pick an excellent program they like and meet with a rehabilitation specialist to determine if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the expense of particular substance abuse rehabilitation solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient centers as well as partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There could be some limitations about just how long a stay in inpatient drug treatment is allowed, and all of these questions will be answered before beginning treatment so that it is clear how much time and individual can remain in the treatment facility of choice.

Payment Assistance (Check With Facility For Details)

Many drug and alcohol treatment programs offer payment assistance to help individuals who may possibly not have adequate funds to self pay for rehab or whose health insurance won't supply coverage or full coverage for their stay. For example, Sometimes insurance only pays for a short-term center when in actuality a long-term facility is going to be the more appropriate option. To see what payment assistance could be available, say for example a sliding fee scale, talk with the center for details.
