While this might appear ideal it may not provide the required change of surroundings than many people in rehabilitation need to experience a productive rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when someone's insurance won't cover the total cost of treatment or will only pay for some of it. In these cases, it may seem like a drawback but individuals in fact have a much more leverage simply because they can decide on whichever program they would like without the restrictions from health insurers that so many people encounter. In addition, treatment facilities will frequently provide payment assistance for people whose only option is self payment to help them get into rehab.

Medicaid

Some rehab programs will take Medicaid in the event the individual is not able to self pay or present some other form of private medical insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehabilitation within a limited amount of programs, and in this instance individuals may want to explore the self pay option and come up with up any resources they're able to to pay for a more quality treatment facility that will produce better results, like a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehab at alcohol and drug treatment centers which deliver either inpatient or outpatient treatment when the facility is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must assist in establishing the individual's treatment plan. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being similar to any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being covered through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of drug and alcohol rehabilitation if other forms of insurance or self payment are not a possibility. If someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could qualify for state insurance, they can consult their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but usually only within the state which provides the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health insurance plans typically cover some sort of drug and alcohol rehabilitation service which range from outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment programs. Individuals may have to participate in an alcohol and drug rehab center which is in their network of providers and there could be other restrictions like just how long their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can select a quality facility they like and speak with a treatment counselor to determine if their insurance will take care of it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the expense of particular drug abuse rehabilitation solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient centers and also partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare representative. There may be some restrictions regarding how much time a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation is allowed, and all of these questions can be answered before beginning treatment so that it's clear just how long and individual can stay in the treatment center of choice.
