Drug Addiction Facts

  • Between April 2005 to March 2007 fentanyl overdoses resulted in roughly 1,000 deaths nationwide, including 86 in New Jersey, according to a report by the CDC.
  • Prescription stimulants are commonly abused because of how easily they are accessed, and can be obtained easily through friends and family, direct prescriptions from a physician, or a prescription "drug dealer." Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when a person's insurance isn't going to cover the entire cost of treatment or will only pay for some of it. In these instances, it may appear like a disadvantage but people actually have a much more leverage due to the fact they can select whichever facility they would like without the restrictions from health insurance providers that so many men and women encounter. In addition, rehab facilities will usually offer payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to help them get into treatment.

Medicaid

Certain rehab programs accept Medicaid when the individual is unable to self pay or present some other form of private medical insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehabilitation in a limited amount of facilities, and in cases like this individuals may wish to investigate the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they're able to to pay for a more quality rehabilitation facility which will get better results, such as a long-term residential drug and alcohol treatment program.
