Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the lower end of the spectrum of rehab solutions with regards to level of care, for the reason that individual can maintain their lifestyle in many ways without the commitment of needing to stay in a rehabilitation facility while undergoing rehab services. While this might appear perfect it may not provide the much needed change of atmosphere than a lot of people in rehabilitation need to experience a successful rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when someone's insurance isn't going to cover the total cost of rehabilitation or will only cover part of it. In these situations, it may seem like a disadvantage but people in fact have a much more leverage due to the fact they can select whichever program they want without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many individuals encounter. In addition, rehabilitation facilities will often provide payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to help them get into treatment.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehabilitation at drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers which provide either inpatient or outpatient treatment if the facility is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed physician, who must assist in setting up the individual's rehabilitation strategy. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being the same as any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being covered through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of drug and alcohol rehab if other forms of insurance or self payment are not a possibility. When someone doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they could qualify for state insurance, they should talk with their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but typically only inside the state which provides the insurance.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the expenses of particular drug abuse treatment solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient facilities in addition to partial hospitalization are all covered by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization and in that case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare representative. There could be some restrictions about just how long a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol rehab is permitted, and every one of these questions will be answered before you start rehabilitation so that it is clear the length of time and individual can stay in the treatment program of choice.
