There are both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services offered.

Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the bottom end of the spectrum of rehab solutions regarding intensity of care, as the individual will be able to maintain their lifestyle in several ways with no commitment of having to be in a treatment facility while receiving rehab services. Even if this might seem perfect it will not provide the required change of atmosphere than lots of people in recovery need to have a successful rehab.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired are often predisposed to alcoholism and substance abuse due to the problems their impairment impose on them. While discovery of this problem can be hard among the hearing impaired, you will find ASL and also other assistance services readily available for them when substance abuse rehab is required. Besides ASL, such services may include assistive listening tools and captioned video materials so that deaf and hearing impaired folks are receiving the support they need in alcohol and drug treatment.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when a person's insurance won't pay for the entire cost of rehab or will only cover some of it. In these cases, it may seem like a disadvantage but people actually have a much more leverage because they can choose whichever facility they want without the restrictions from health insurance companies that so many men and women face. Likewise, rehab centers will often provide payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to help them get into treatment.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation facilities will take Medicaid in the event the individual is not able to self pay or present any other form of private medical health insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term treatment in a limited amount of centers, and in this instance individuals might want to explore the self pay alternative and come up with up any resources they can to fund a more quality rehab program which will get better results, such as a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehab center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek treatment at drug and alcohol treatment centers which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehab when the center is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must assist in setting up the individual's rehab plan. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being exactly like any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug treatment if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not an option. If someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could be eligible for state insurance, they should check with their Social Services office within their area to ascertain if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will take care of both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but generally only in the state which provides the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans typically cover some sort of alcohol and drug treatment service which range from outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug rehab centers. Individuals could have to participate in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program which is within their network of providers and there may be other limitations for example how long their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can select a good program they prefer and consult with a rehab counselor to ascertain if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the expenses of particular substance abuse rehab services. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient facilities and also partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare consultant. There can be some limitations regarding how much time a stay in inpatient drug treatment is permitted, and all of these questions can be answered prior to starting rehab so that it's clear how long and individual can remain in the rehab center of choice.
