Hospital Inpatient

Hospital inpatient services are accessible to anybody that must be safely managed through detox services when heavily dependent to alcohol and drugs, or who needs a better spectrum of care such as someone who has a dual diagnosis so also needs mental health services as part of their treatment process. There are both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services available.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be prone to alcoholism and drug and alcohol use as a result of problems that their impairment impose on them. While detection of the problem can often be difficult among the hearing impaired, you'll find ASL along with other assistance services available for them when drug abuse treatment is necessary. Besides ASL, such services might include assistive listening equipment and captioned video materials so that deaf and hearing impaired people are receiving the support they require in drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance won't pay for the total cost of treatment or will only pay for some of it. In these cases, it may appear like a drawback but people in fact have a much more leverage because they can choose whichever center they would like without the restrictions from health insurance companies that so many individuals face. In addition, rehab programs will usually provide payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Certain treatment programs will take Medicaid in the event the individual is not able to self pay or present another type of private health insurance. Medicaid may possibly cover outpatient and short-term treatment in a limited amount of programs, and in this case individuals might want to explore the self pay option and come up with up any resources they're able to to cover a more quality rehabilitation center that will produce better results, say for example a long-term residential drug and alcohol treatment program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive treatment at drug treatment facilities which provide either inpatient or outpatient treatment when the facility is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help in establishing the individual's rehab strategy. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being similar to any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the costs of alcohol and drug treatment if other forms of insurance or self payment are not a possibility. If someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they may be eligible for state insurance, they should seek advice from their Social Services office within their area to determine if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but typically only within the state which provides the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans generally cover some sort of drug treatment service including outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug treatment centers. Individuals might have to take part in a drug rehab program that's inside their network of providers and there could be other limitations like just how long their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can select a quality program they prefer and speak with a treatment counselor to find out if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the expense of certain substance abuse rehabilitation services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient programs in addition to partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There can be some limitations as to how much time a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug rehab is permitted, and all of these questions can be answered before you start rehab so that it's clear the length of time and individual can remain in the rehabilitation center of preference.
