Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the lower end of the spectrum of rehab solutions in terms of level of care, as the individual is able to preserve their lifestyle in lots of ways with no commitment of having to remain in a rehab facility while undergoing rehabilitation services. Even if this may seem ideal it may not provide the much needed change of atmosphere than many individuals in recovery need to have a productive rehabilitation.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be prone to alcoholism and drug and alcohol use as a result of problems that their impairment impose on them. While detection of this problem can be difficult among the hearing impaired, you can find ASL along with other assistance services readily available for them when drug abuse rehab is required. Aside from ASL, such services may include assistive listening tools and captioned video resources to ensure that deaf and hearing impaired people are getting the support they need in alcohol and drug rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when a person's insurance isn't going to cover the total cost of rehabilitation or will only pay for some of it. In these instances, it may appear like a drawback but individuals in fact have a great deal of leverage simply because they can select whichever center they would like without the restrictions from health insurers that so many men and women face. Likewise, rehabilitation programs will usually provide payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation centers will take Medicaid if the individual cannot self pay or present some other kind of private medical health insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term rehab within a limited amount of programs, and in this instance individuals may want to explore the self pay option and drum up any resources they can to pay for a more quality rehabilitation program which will produce better results, say for example a long-term residential drug rehab program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehab at alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehab if the facility is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed physician, who must aid in setting up the individual's rehabilitation strategy. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being exactly like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being paid for through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug treatment if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't a choice. If someone doesn't have private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they might qualify for state insurance, they can talk with their Social Services office within their area to ascertain if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but generally only inside the state which offers the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans typically cover some sort of drug treatment service including outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab programs. Individuals may have to participate in an alcohol and drug treatment facility which is within their network of providers and there may be other restrictions including the length of time their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can choose a quality center they prefer and consult with a rehab counselor to ascertain if their insurance will take care of it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the expense of particular substance abuse treatment services. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient facilities along with partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There could be some limitations as to how much time a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol rehab is allowed, and every one of these questions will be answered prior to starting rehabilitation so that it's clear how much time and individual can stay in the rehab program of choice.

Sliding Fee Scale

A sliding fee scale is a payment assistance possibility offered by many different drug and alcohol rehab centers in order to help clients afford rehabilitation where this may not have been possible initially. For example, one client's fee for rehabilitation may be different and lower than another individual whose financial situation is better which makes them more prepared to pay for the full price of treatment. Registrars take into consideration other factors aside from income including number of dependents to ascertain the ultimate cost using the sliding scale.
