Self Payment

Self Payment is required when someone's insurance isn't going to cover the entire cost of rehabilitation or will only cover some of it. In these instances, it may appear like a drawback but people really have a great deal of leverage simply because they can choose whichever facility they would like without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many individuals encounter. In addition, rehabilitation centers will frequently provide payment assistance for people whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into treatment.

Medicaid

Some treatment centers will take Medicaid when the individual cannot self pay or present some other kind of private health insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term rehab within a limited amount of programs, and in such cases individuals may wish to investigate the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they are able to to fund a more quality rehab facility which will get better results, say for example a long-term residential drug treatment center.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)
