Hospital Inpatient

Hospital inpatient services are accessible to anybody that has to be safely managed through detoxification services when heavily dependent to drugs and/or alcohol, or who requires a broader spectrum of care such as somebody who has a dual diagnosis and also needs mental health solutions during their rehabilitation process. There are both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services offered.

Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the lower end of the spectrum of rehab services with regards to intensity of care, for the reason that individual is able to maintain their lifestyle in several ways without the commitment of having to remain in a rehab program while undergoing rehab services. While this might appear perfect it may not provide the much needed change of surroundings than many people in recovery need to experience a productive rehab.

Persons With Co-Occurring Mental And Substance Abuse Disorders

Individuals with co-occurring mental and substance abuse problems are what are identified in the field of drug and alcohol treatment as dual diagnosis clients. These clients must deal with both disorders while in treatment in order to find resolution because one usually triggers the other. Luckily, there are many drug rehab facilities that can specifically address the challenges that persons with co-occurring mental and substance abuse disorders face to be able to not simply become abstinent but mentally stable and also able to lead a much higher quality lifestyle and not want to self medicate with drugs and alcohol.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired are often prone to alcoholism and drug and alcohol use as a result of problems their impairment impose on them. While detection of this issue can often be difficult among the hearing impaired, there are ASL as well as other assistance services designed for them when drug abuse rehabilitation is necessary. Aside from ASL, such services can sometimes include assistive listening equipment and captioned video resources so that deaf and hearing impaired individuals are getting the help they need in drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when someone's insurance won't pay for the entire cost of rehab or will only pay for some of it. In these situations, it may appear like a disadvantage but people in fact have a much more leverage because they can decide on whichever program they would like without the restrictions from health insurance companies that so many people face. Likewise, rehab programs will frequently provide payment assistance for people whose only option is self payment to help them get into treatment.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation programs accept Medicaid when the individual is unable to self pay or present some other form of private health care insurance. Medicaid might cover outpatient and short-term treatment within a limited amount of centers, and in cases like this individuals may wish to investigate the self pay option and drum up any resources they are able to to fund a more quality rehab center that will get better results, say for example a long-term residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek treatment at drug rehab programs which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation if the facility is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the approval of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help out with setting up the individual's treatment strategy. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being exactly like any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug rehab if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not an option. When someone has no private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they may be eligible for state insurance, they should talk with their Social Services office in their area to ascertain if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance will take care of both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but usually only within the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health insurance plans generally cover some form of drug rehabilitation service including outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug treatment programs. Individuals could have to participate in a drug rehabilitation program that's within their network of providers and there could be other limitations like the amount of time their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can choose a quality facility they prefer and meet with a rehab specialist to ascertain if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the expenses of certain substance abuse rehabilitation services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient programs along with partial hospitalization are all paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There might be some limitations as to how long a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol treatment is allowed, and all of these questions will be answered before you start rehabilitation so that it's clear just how long and individual can remain in the rehab center of choice.
