Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the lower end of the spectrum of treatment services regarding level of care, as the individual will be able to keep their lifestyle in several ways with no commitment of needing to remain in a rehab program while receiving rehabilitation services. Even though this might seem ideal it will not provide the much needed change of surroundings than a lot of people in treatment need to have a successful rehab.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired are often prone to alcoholism and substance abuse because of the problems their impairment impose on them. While discovery of this problem is often hard among the hearing impaired, you can find ASL along with other assistance services available for them when substance abuse treatment is needed. Aside from ASL, such services can include assistive listening equipment and captioned video resources to ensure that deaf and hearing impaired people are receiving the help they need in alcohol and drug rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when someone's insurance isn't going to cover the total cost of treatment or will only pay for some of it. In these instances, it may appear like a disadvantage but individuals in fact have a great deal of leverage simply because they can select whichever facility they would like without the limitations from health insurance companies that so many people face. Likewise, rehab facilities will often offer payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Some treatment programs will take Medicaid if the individual is not able to self pay or present any other type of private health care insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehab within a limited amount of programs, and in such cases individuals might want to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they are able to to fund a more quality rehabilitation program which will get better results, like a long-term residential drug rehabilitation center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehab at drug and alcohol treatment centers which deliver either inpatient or outpatient treatment when the center is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must assist in setting up the individual's rehabilitation plan. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being exactly like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of alcohol and drug rehab if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not a choice. If someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they could be eligible for state insurance, they can check with their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but generally only inside the state which provides the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health insurance plans generally cover some sort of drug rehabilitation service including outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities. Individuals may have to take part in a drug rehabilitation program which is within their network of providers and there could be other restrictions for example the length of time their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can pick a quality program they like and consult with a rehab specialist to find out if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the costs of particular substance abuse rehab services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient facilities along with partial hospitalization are all paid for by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization and in that case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare representative. There may be some restrictions regarding how long a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug rehab is permitted, and all of these questions can be answered prior to starting rehab so that it is clear how long and individual can stay in the rehab facility of preference.

Sliding Fee Scale

A sliding fee scale can be a payment assistance possibility provided by many different alcohol and drug rehab programs to help help individuals afford rehab where this might not have been doable initially. For instance, one client's price for treatment might be different and lower than someone else whose financial situation is better which makes them better able to pay the full expense of rehab. Registrars take into account other factors apart from income including number of dependents to determine the ultimate cost and using the sliding scale.
