Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the low end of the spectrum of treatment solutions in terms of intensity of care, since the individual is able to preserve their lifestyle in several ways without the commitment of having to stay in a rehabilitation center while receiving rehab services. Even though this may appear ideal it will not provide the much needed change of environment than many individuals in rehabilitation require to have a successful rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when someone's insurance isn't going to pay for the entire cost of treatment or will only cover some of it. In these cases, it may appear like a drawback but people actually have a great deal of leverage due to the fact they can select whichever center they would like without the limitations from health insurers that so many people encounter. In addition, rehabilitation facilities will usually offer payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to help them get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Some rehab facilities accept Medicaid in the event the individual cannot self pay or present some other form of private health care insurance. Medicaid may possibly cover outpatient and short-term rehabilitation inside a limited amount of programs, and in cases like this individuals may choose to investigate the self pay option and come up with up any resources they are able to to pay for a more quality rehabilitation program that will get better results, such as a long-term residential drug rehabilitation center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive treatment at drug rehabilitation centers which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehab when the center is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the approval of their Medicare appointed physician, who must aid in setting up the person's treatment plan. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being the same as any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being covered through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of alcohol and drug treatment if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't a choice. When someone doesn't have private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they may qualify for state insurance, they can consult their Social Services office in their area to figure out if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but typically only inside the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans typically cover some form of drug and alcohol treatment service ranging from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment programs. Individuals may have to take part in a drug rehabilitation facility which is inside their network of providers and there may be other limitations including how long their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can select a quality facility they like and meet with a treatment counselor to find out if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the costs of certain drug abuse rehabilitation solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient programs along with partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare consultant. There might be some restrictions as to how much time a stay in inpatient drug rehabilitation is allowed, and every one of these questions can be answered before you start rehabilitation so that it is clear how much time and individual can remain in the rehabilitation center of preference.

Sliding Fee Scale

A sliding fee scale can be a payment assistance option provided by many different drug and alcohol treatment facilities in an effort to help clients afford rehabilitation where this may not have been doable initially. For example, one client's fee for treatment could be different and someone else whose finances are better which makes them better able to pay for the full expense of rehabilitation. Registrars take into consideration additional circumstances in addition to income including number of dependents to ascertain the ultimate cost using the sliding scale.
