Hospital Inpatient

Hospital inpatient services are available to anybody who needs to be safely managed through detoxification services when seriously dependent to drugs and alcohol, or who needs a broader spectrum of care such as somebody who has a dual diagnosis so also needs mental health services as part of their treatment process. You'll find both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services accessible.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be predisposed to alcoholism and substance abuse due to challenges their impairment impose on them. While detection of this problem can be hard among the hearing impaired, you'll find ASL and other assistance services designed for them when substance abuse rehab is necessary. Aside from ASL, such services can sometimes include assistive listening tools and captioned video resources to ensure that deaf and hearing impaired individuals are getting the help they require in drug rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance isn't going to pay for the total cost of rehab or will only pay for some of it. In these cases, it may seem like a drawback but people actually have a much more leverage simply because they can decide on whichever program they want without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many men and women face. In addition, rehabilitation programs will often offer payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into treatment.

Medicaid

Certain treatment programs will take Medicaid if the individual cannot self pay or present any other type of private health insurance. Medicaid may possibly pay for outpatient and short-term treatment inside a limited amount of centers, and in such cases individuals may want to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they are able to to pay for a more quality rehab facility which will produce better results, like a long-term residential drug rehabilitation program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehab at alcohol and drug rehab programs which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehab if the program is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help out with establishing the person's rehab plan. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being the same as any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of drug and alcohol treatment if other forms of insurance or self payment are not a choice. If a person does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they might qualify for state insurance, they should talk with their Social Services office within their area to determine if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but usually only in the state which provides the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health insurance plans generally cover some form of alcohol and drug rehab service including outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab facilities. Individuals could possibly have to participate in a drug and alcohol treatment program that is in their network of providers and there may be other limitations like the amount of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can pick a quality center they prefer and speak with a treatment counselor to find out if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the expenses of certain substance abuse treatment services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient centers along with partial hospitalization are all paid for by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare consultant. There might be some limitations about how long a stay in inpatient drug treatment is allowed, and all of these questions can be answered prior to starting rehab so that it's clear how long and individual can stay in the treatment program of choice.
