Partial Hospitalization/Day Treatment

Partial hospitalization, or Day Treatment as it's often called, is an alcohol and drug treatment program meant for those who need and desire a comprehensive and structured treatment plan and atmosphere yet don't need 24 / 7 supervision. It can help make people in treatment stay supported treatment course of action without interfering with other activities they might need to maintain during rehab. Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is also a choice for many who have completed an inpatient or residential program and want assistance with the smooth transition back into a normal drug free lifestyle.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when a person's insurance won't cover the total cost of rehabilitation or will only cover some of it. In these instances, it may appear like a drawback but people in fact have a great deal of leverage because they can decide on whichever center they want without the limitations from health insurance companies that so many people face. Likewise, treatment centers will frequently provide payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Some treatment programs accept Medicaid if the individual cannot self pay or present any other type of private health care insurance. Medicaid might cover outpatient and short-term rehab in a limited amount of centers, and in such cases individuals may want to investigate the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they can to cover a more quality rehab center which will produce better results, like a long-term residential alcohol and drug rehab facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehab when the program is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must assist in establishing the individual's rehab strategy. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being just like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of drug and alcohol treatment if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't an option. If a person doesn't have private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they may qualify for state insurance, they should talk with their Social Services office within their area to determine if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but typically only in the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health insurance plans generally cover some type of drug rehabilitation service ranging from outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab facilities. Individuals could possibly have to take part in a drug and alcohol rehab center that's within their network of providers and there could be other restrictions like the amount of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can select a good center they like and consult with a treatment counselor to determine if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the costs of certain drug abuse treatment solutions. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient programs along with partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare consultant. There could be some limitations about how much time a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug rehabilitation is allowed, and every one of these questions will be answered prior to starting rehabilitation so that it's clear just how long and individual can stay in the rehabilitation program of choice.
